Sapphire (Okami OC Set 3)

An original character from some of my written work.

The Honoiro series of fiction pieces continues the saga of the previous series, melding the beauty and style of the original with a more modern, Western take on adventures. It has been twenty years since the story of alchemy ended, and the children of the original adventurers are quickly becoming skilled voyagers in their own right. However, a shocking encounter with foreigners from the far west finds them transported to the homeland of their ancestors, there to encounter the wonders and dangers of a rapidly evolving civilization. Fortuitously, they are able to find new allies, and this new group, formed of no common thread but working towards a single purpose, attempt to sort out all that has gone wrong. However, as is inevitable, old enemies surface once again, this time holding a power that threatens to tear the world asunder. Away from home and everything they hold dear, is it possible for this group of associates to stave off personal and even global disaster?

Sapphire is a free-living member of a far-flung merchant clan, making her own individualistic way by sword and wit. Having no interest in standard commercial enterprises, she was instead sent to an academy for wealthy young people, where she plied a considerable talent for networking, eventually leaving with mediocre grades but an exceptional number of contacts. With her reasonable wealth, wide-ranging associations, and less than entirely law-abiding nature, she began the odd trade of smuggling convicts out of a theocratic state to the west. Though rarely needed in that secretive work, she is nonetheless among the best sword users her nation has ever produced, able to defeat hardened veterans and even powerful magical creatures through skill at arms alone. Her personality is half ruthless and unflinching, half kind and heroic, with a strong sense of humor and flirtatious side as well. It turned out that while her work led to many interesting paths, one particular "shipment" was much more interesting than normal, enough to push her into conflict with a common enemy ...

Well, here's another cute girl from my collection. Sometimes I wonder if I stereotype my female characters too much, though there haven’t been complaints on that account. This one at least has been an endless amount of fun to play, but I try not to pick favorites. Finding her ability tree was tough, you should know, it seems everyone with any importance has a spell or two up their sleeve. Maybe that makes her more relatable, I don’t know.
